35 procurement issues including Balkh Nahr-e-Shahi road project approved

KABUL: The National Procurements Commission meeting has approved a total of up to 35 contracts worth over 3.6 billion Afghanis, a statement from the Presidential Office said Tuesday.
The meeting which was chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, discussed some 37 issues related to various projects, from which 35 contracts costing more than 3.6 billion Afghanis have been approved.
The approved contracts included Nahr-e-Shahi road projects in the country’s northern Balkh province and some other contracts presented by the ministries of rural rehabilitation and development and water and power, said the statement. The commission approved some of the offered contracts, while returned some to the related organs for more scrutiny in the content and instructed that for representing them in the next NPC meeting, said the statement.
