ANDSF capable of protecting country

Since withdrawal of the major parts of international troops in 2014 and inauguration of the National Unity Government after disputed presidential election, the Afghan forces could display commitment to the nation and the constitution through immense sacrifice and has won unprecedented public support and trust.
The 20 international terrorist groupings being backed by certain intelligence agencies of the regional countries, have inflicted heavy casualties upon Afghan soldiers within the past five years, but the forces did not allow any of them to take over any provinces and oppress the people. That’s why the Afghan people and politicians have fully trust on capabilities of their brave forces to protect the national territory and territorial integrity.
President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, said at a press conference at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Thursday that Afghan government was “totally ready” if President Donald Trump decided to scale back the US military presence in the country.
In response to a reporter’s question about escalating tensions between the US and Iran, Ghani replied: “We are totally ready for a withdrawal of 4,000 troops any time the president decides.”
In recent weeks, there has been speculation that Trump could back away from reported plans to withdraw the troops from Afghanistan amid an escalation of tensions with Iran, with which Afghanistan shares a border.
“That’s an internal US policy — as far as Afghanistan is concerned, we have factored this in and we are ready to be able to see the departure of 4,000 troops,” President Ghani said.
With the establishment of democratic administration, peace has been the highest national priority and Afghan officials sought tirelessly to get warring factions to join peace process and stop violence and bloodshed. However, the Taliban persisted in their indiscriminate killings and spilling the blood of combatants and non-combatants alike. They turned the Afghan’s peace offering down. Through continuing the tug of war, the Taliban left no room for negotiation and no trust to resume it.
The bravery of Afghan soldiers is beyond doubt despite undergoing casualties. They are resilient in the face of adversity, and they have made constant improvements in efficiently and effectively coordinating and building systems of leadership and management.
Indeed, democracy is not gained without sacrifices. If the democratic societies are considered, people sacrificed their lives and shed their blood to ensure democracy for their nation. Similarly, Afghan people have been devoting their lives so as to invest for gaining democracy.
It is hoped that the precious lives and blood of our soldiers will not go in vain rather they will ensure peace and stability for the nation, if not now, in the future. Whenever negotiation is proved abortive, blood will be the only remedy to protect the rights and dignity of a nation.
The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces, who sacrifice their lives for protecting their nation and country, are not dead. They are alive in national memory and are considered national heroes since they play heroic role and they will continue doing so to protect their beloved country.
