Laws Committee holds extraordinary meeting

KABUL: The Committee of Laws has held an extraordinary meeting to assess the draft of the audit office, the civil higher educations’ amendment draft, the draft on addition and amendment in some law arrangement of land affairs, said a statement from the Second Vice-President office the other day.
Chaired by the country’s Second Vice-President Mohammad Sarwar Danesh the Laws Committee’s meeting also discussed issues relating to the nullification of some of the law’s provisions on the road transport arrangement, said the statement.
The second vice-president meanwhile called the assessment of the related issues very important and stated that with the confirmation and approval of the legislative documents the knowhow of the implementation and offering services of the mentioned issues should further be provided with ease.
The draft law of the audit office has also been discussed by the meeting participants, which has been said to be set in accordance to various decrees of the constitution, according to the statement.
The main aim of the codification of the drafts was fighting corruption for the development and ensuring transparency and accountability in the performances of high authorities, government, the related individuals and administrations, regulating the audit office’s authorities and duties, providing the way for participation of the people and making them sure about fighting corruption and implementation of the counter-corruption national strategy and observing the convention of fighting administrative corruption.
