MoFA questions Iran’s superficial view of Afghan affairs

By: The Kabul Times

KABUL: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) on Monday strongly condemned Iran’s proposal for an inclusive government in Afghanistan.
A day earlier, the Iranian Foreign Ministry stressed the need for the creation of an Inclusive government and questioned the credibility of the presidential election.
The MoFA in a tweet said yesterday that Afghanistan and Iran enjoyed close historical, cultural and religious relations. However, it warned Iran’s remarks on the composition of government in Afghanistan could only lead to creating an environment of distrust.
The remarks, which amounted to interference in Afghanistan’s internal affairs, could not be helpful in strengthening bilateral ties, the ministry tweeted.
