KABUL: Addressing a ceremony marking the International Women’s Day in Kabul, acting Minister of Information and Culture, Hasina Safi, said intellectual cohesion was key to women’s progress in the country, BNA reported.
Speaking at the session organized by the ministry’s gender department, the acting minister pointed to her two years achievements at the ministry, adding that efforts made for defending women’s rights and improving coordination and cohesion among them, according to agency.
The first lady video message was also played during the ceremony, pointing their political, social, cultural and economic achievements in the country. She said that there would be no peace without women’s presence, the agency quoted.
Gender officer of the ministry Mahbooba Sadat also spoke on the occasion saying there would be no development in a society sans active participation of women.
