President Ghani, WHO director general discuss COVID-19 pandemic

KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani spoke by phone with Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Director-General of the World Health Organization and discussed the government of Afghanistan’s efforts to cope with the spread of covid-19 pandemic, a statement from the presidential palace said yesterday.
The President articulated the policy of the Afghan government that addresses multiple dimensions required to curb the disease spread, according to the statement. The WHO Director-General expressed the organization’s support for implementation of the government’s policy, the statement added.
