Afghanistan records another 165 new cases of COVID-19

KABUL: Afghanistan’s Ministry of Public Health on Saturday 165 new positive cases of COVID-19 out of 529 samples tested in the last 24 hours, the lowest number in a day after a month of surge in the cases. The ministry also reported 20 deaths and 388 recoveries in the last 24 hours. The total number of cases is 30,616 and total deaths reported are 703. The positive cases were reported in Paktia (34), Herat (27), Ghazni (21), Kandahar (19), Paktika (17), Khost (10), Nuristan (8), Laghman (7), Nangarhar (7), Balkh (7), Helmand (4), Uruzgan (3), Samangan (1). But no cases were reported in Kabul in the last 24 hours, according to data by the ministry. The deaths were reported in Khost (9), Helmand (3), Paktia (3), Samangan (2), Badakhshan (2), Uruzgan (1). The ministry did not provide a current number of recovered cases.
